“It can’t happen to me” is thought and spoken by teens today.  We know that children make decisions every day with this thought in mind.  They travel in a car without buckling up, ride with someone who has been drinking or even choose to cheat on a test all thinking they will not get caught or that anything bad will happen to them.  We all live with the choices we make but the chance that an educated choice will keep us from getting hurt or in trouble can depend on the education that has been presented.

Teachers today need to educate the students on how to make informed decisions when it comes to healthy behaviors.  Students need to learn how to make good choices today that will last them a lifetime.  Participants will discuss risks students take and look at the ND Youth Risk Behaviors Survey to view the percentage of youth from our area who are taking these risks.  Participants will also learn about the cause and effect of these risks and how it affects the future of our youth.
