Master of Science in Special Education: Developmental Disabilities (DD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Description:
Students earning a Master of Science degree in Special Education in the area of DD/ASD will be prepared to serve people with: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual impairments, and Physical Disabilities.

The program will include coursework in assessment, behavior management, program development, program implementation, provisions of physical care, habilitative techniques, assistive technology, alternative systems of communication, social skills training, team collaboration, and various planning models for people with DD/ASD throughout the lifespan.
This program is suited for: Allied health Professionals, Human Service Professionals, Teachers, and Medical Professionals.
Notes:
Courses will be delivered by an online format with blended web-based interactive options. There will be a summer residency which will comprise of hands-on assessment practices and inter-agency collaborations for people with DD/ASD.

Remember, graduate students enter our program with diverse training and experience. This program can accommodate students with different undergraduate training experiences. For example, certain students may need to complete undergraduate coursework (such as ASL). Other students may NOT need to take all the classes on this list.
