Gerry Lima began teaching high school ESL in Fortaleza, Brazil in 1981 where he also worked as a Regional Coordinator and Teaching Trainer for ESL programs. In the United States, he continued teaching ESL at a language institute in the areas of TOEFL Preparation, Phonetics, Basic Aviation, Advanced Grammar, Reading, and Writing.
After completing his Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University, Gerry served as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the public schools of Irving, TX and Denton, TX. While living in Toronto, Canada, he also worked for Bloorview Kids Rehab providing support to local speech pathologists and school staff.
Gerry is fluent in Portuguese and English. His interests include phonology, accent modification/reduction, language development, and augmentative alternative communication.
