Faculty Music Recital

Dr. Jon Rumney, music professor, will give a recital of French music with pianist and colleague Dr. Dianna Anderson Sunday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

The recital will include two French works that begin and end the musical program. The first piece, written by Jean Baptiste Senaille´, is a French sonata, accompanied by harpsichord and cello, featuring Dr. Erik Anderson, associate music professor. The final selection is a French sonata written by Gabriel Faure´ that is full of dynamics and expressive slides representing the Romantic period.

Sandwiched between the French works will be two short presentations that pay tribute to famous violinists of the 20th century. Highlights include a Gershwin song specially arranged by Russian violinist Jascha Heifetz, and a Schumann Romance, arranged by Austrian violinist and composer Fritz Kreisler.
