Soccer - NCAA Central Region Tournament

Minot State University drew the only undefeated team remaining in NCAA Division II Women's Soccer, the NCAA announced Nov. 5 during a selection show. The Beavers (15-3-3) earned the No. 5 seed in the Central Region and will play No. 4 seed and No. 19 ranked Southwest Oklahoma State Friday (Nov, 9) at Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. A screening of the game will be in the Beaver Dam at 1 p.m.

Southwest Oklahoma (19-0-1) is the champions of the Great American Conference. The Weatherford, Oklahoma-based school defeated Ouachita Baptist in the championship of the GAC 2-1, its first GAC championship.

Minot State knocked off Winona State 1-0 in the championship to earn its first ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title. This is the first season in the NSIC and in NCAA Division II for the university and just the third year in existence for the soccer program at Minot State.

The winner of the MISU-SWOSU match will take on No. 1 seed Central Missouri Sunday (Nov. 11). If MISU is in this game, it will be aired at 1 p.m. in the Beaver Dam. In the bottom half of the bracket, No. 3 Central Oklahoma battles Fort Hays State in the first round with the winner taking on No. 2 Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn.

The winners from the two halves of the Central Region move on for the title match Nov. 16. The 48-team tournament comes down the semifinals and final in Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga., hosted by the Peach Belt Conference Nov. 29 and Dec. 1.
