May 31: CONNECT Orientation

8:15am: Campus Event
Meet new students, learn about MSU support services, visit with an academic advisor and register for classes. All new students to MSU are required to attend a CONNECT event. Students must be accepted to MSU and will be invited to complete the online form to reserve a spot at a CONNECT session. Check-in is from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in the Student Center Atrium and the program concludes around 4 p.m. Students must attend the entire day's activities.

Sep 21: Homecoming: MSU Centennial Celebration Community Block Party

12:00pm: Campus Event
Everyone is invited to the MSU Centennial Celebration Community Block Party on the lawn of Old Main. There will be free food, children's games, play castles, prizes and tours. Several MSU music groups and the Pride of MSU Marching Band will perform. A special Centennial Celebration program begins at 2 p.m. with special guests and the MAFB Color Guard. The MSU Homecoming king and queen will be crowned, and a rededication of Old Main will add to the festivities.

This free event is open to everyone, so bring your family out for a day of fun! In case of inclement weather, the block party will be held in the MSU Dome.

Sep 24: Dedication of the Beaver Statue

MSU's Alumni Association took on the challenge to fund this project. The community is invited to attend this momentous event, as the 24th of September is the day when MSU offered its first classes 100 years ago.

Sep 28: Homecoming: MSU Centennial Celebration Photo

2:30pm: Campus Event
Show your Beaver Pride by wearing RED to participate in the Centennial Celebration group photo as hundreds of alumni, friends and our greater Minot community gather on MSU's new turf. The historic group photo will take place at halftime of the MSU football game. Picture orders will be available at www.minotstateu.edu/100

Oct 11: MSU Centennial Celebration: Great Plains Symposium

This one-of-a-kind academic conference features key speakers Ian Frazier, Jerome Tweton, Christine Ogren, Raymond Screws, Jonathan Wagner and Mark Timbrook.

Nov 7: MSU Centennial Celebration: KMSU Documentary "Looking Back at MSU"

Tune in for KMSU's Centennial Celebration documentary focusing on the history of MSU. The show will feature historical photos and stories by retired faculty and staff, alumni and current students, faculty and staff. Shown on TV Channel 19.

Dec 4: Technology Day

Technoligy Day is a competition for high schools students sponsored by the MSU Business Information Technology Department. Area high schools select students for competition in accounting, business law, desktop publishing, document production, business principles, spreadsheet applications, Web page design and business presentations. Every school is eligible to enter one student in each of the eight individual events, and the school with the most points in all competitions receives a Sweepstakes trophy.

Apr 10: MSU Centennial Celebration: KMSU Documentary "Looking Back at MSU"

May 1: MSU Centennial Celebration: Maypole Dance

Children from area schools will join MSU physical education's social dance classes in re-enacting the tradition Maypole dance. The dance was previously conducted for several years as a part of the May Fete and Spring Festival. This event is free and open to the public.

May 16: MSU Centennial Celebration: Commencement and Closing Ceremony

The Class of 2014 is MSU's 100th graduating class. Join the president, faculty and staff in celebrating this centennial class' graduation. Special recognitions and a community social will be held following the ceremony.
