• Joan Houston Attended the Nodak State Auditors Audit skills training course on May 1, 2014 at Bismarck, North Dakota.
• Jerry Stai attended the CFA Institute Annual Conference as a CFA, Certified Financial Analyst, member May 4-7, 2014 in Seattle, Washington.
• Carla Cabarle attended the ND Society of CPA’s Management Conference in Fargo, North Dakota on May 19-21, 2014.
• Jay Wahlund and Joan Houston attended the 2014 Management Conference in Fargo, North Dakota on May 19-20, 2104.

BUSINESS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT:
• Deanna Klein, Kristi Berg and Tom Seymour attended the ND IT Symposium on May 22, 2014, in Fargo, North Dakota.

SEVERSON ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY:
• Chuck Barney, SEA Director, attended the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 19-21, 2014.

DEAN’S OFFICE:
• Roger Looyenga, alumni from the class of 1969, visited the CoB on May 13-14, 2014. Several years ago, Mr. Looyenga provided an endowment for the College of Business to have a leadership emphasis. His visit also allowed him to meet with students and see their projects that are a part of the Leadership initiative.

• Dr. John Girard was the Program Chair for the Middle East Leadership Communications Conference and conference workshop April 21-23, 2104 in Dubai, UAF.

• Dr. Tom Seymour attended a SRT meeting in Washington, DC April 7-8, 2014.
• Dr. Lori Willoughby and Dr. Linda Cresap attended the IACBE, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, Annual Meeting and Conference in San Diego, California April 8-12, 2014
• Jan Repnow attended the National Business Education Conference in Los Angeles, California on April 14-19, 2014.

• Chuck Barney assisted with the Market Place for Kids event held on campus, April 8, 2014.
• Chuck Barney let a Boots 2 Business Seminar at Minot Air Force Base on April 29, 2014.

• Jerry Stai attended a NDUS Retirement Oversight Committee Meeting in Bismarck, North Dakota on March 5, 2014.
• Dean Frantsvog attended the Rocky Mountain legal writing conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 2829, 2014.
• Patti Fedje received an FBLA award on behalf of the College of Business at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND on March 30, 2014. The award was the North Dakota Future Business Leaders of America, 2014 Business of the Year for the College of Business’ support of FBLA.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT:
• Diann Hanson presented a session for the Student Success Center, “Can’t Everyone Just Get Along”– Conflict Management Success Workshop on April 2 and April 3, 2014 at MSU.
• Dr. Mehmet Koseoglu and Gary Ross received, Best Research Publication in Journal Awards, IABE- 2014 Orlando Conference, Paper: Ocak, S., Koseoglu, M.A., and Ross, G. (2014). How Do Healthcare Professionals Use Knowledge Management?: Evidence From An Emerging Economy Journal Of International Management Studies (JIMS),

• Dr. John Girard was the Program Chair for Knowledge Management Middle East 2014 in Dubai, UAF on March 10-12, 2014.
• Dr. Gary Ross attended the IABE, International Academy of Business and Economics, Winter Conference in Orlando, Florida on March 15, 2014.

• Jan Repnow has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor.
• Dr. Lori Willoughby attended the Microsoft Convergence meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, March 3-4, 2014.
• Julianne Eklund and Sharon Reynolds attended the Course Technology 2014 Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on March 12-14, 2014.
• Dr. Tom Seymour attended a Noble desktop workshop on PHP and MYSQL in New York City, New York on Marcy 17-19, 2014.

• Lori Willoughby attended a Mircrosoft Dynamis CRM conference in Atlanta, Georgia on February 26-March 1.

SEVERSON ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY:
• January 29, 2014, Chuck Barney met with civic leaders from Williston to discuss the business climate and the upcoming
legislative session.
• Chuck Barney presented an overview of the SEA to high school teachers that attended Tech Day on February 5, 2014.
• Chuck Barney presented to the local SCORE chapter on the MAGIC Fund guidelines and the history of the MAGIC Fund on February 11, 2014.
• February 14, 2014 Chuck Barney participated in the SEA press conference announcing the Challenge grant and expansion of the SEA which includes a $500,000 gift from Clint Severson and Conni Ahart.
• Chuck Barney spoke at the retired MSU faculty luncheon on February 20, 2014.
• Chuck Barney attended the Small Business Administration fact finding luncheon on February 24, 2014.
• On February 25, 2014, Chuck Barney attended the MADC, Minot Area Development Corporation, annual meeting.

• Dean Frantsvog attended the NCAA National Convention in San Diego, California January 15-19, 2014. He attended with President Fuller and Rick Hedberg.
• Dr. Frank Moseley attended an Energy Risk Management Seminar in Houston, Texas January 16-17, 2014.
• Jerry Stai attended a Board of Directors meeting for Integrity Viking Mutual Fund as a board member and chair of the Audit Committee in Phoenix, Arizona January 30-31, 2014.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT:
• Dr. Minh Doan is a visiting professor from Vietnam that will be teaching BADM courses for the spring 2014 semester.
• Dr. John Girard delivered the keynote address (Social Knowledge: Are you ready for the future?) at The Clute Institute International Academic Conference, Orlando, Florida on January 3rd, 2014.

• Chuck Barney, Director, spoke at the Minot Air Force Base for a Boots 2 Business meeting.
