Broadcasting Program

News Writing Option

In the News Writing Option, you can be involved with Minot State's campus newspaper, the Red & Green. The newspaper is printed weekly, enabling you to learn and develop skills in the following areas:

  • Writing - Learn how to research, interview and write news and feature stories, columns and editorials.
  • Editing - Develop your orientation to detail by proofreading writers’ stories, editorials and columns.
  • Layout - Learn how to lay out stories, photos and graphics for the newspaper.
  • Photography - Take photos to accompany news, sports and entertainment articles.
  • Digital Editing - Maintain the online version of the Red & Green.
