Brock Weppler
Head Baseball Coach

Coach Weppler will begin his third season as Head Coach at Minot State. In his second season as head coach, he guided the Beavers to a 3rd place finish in the conference. Coach Weppler spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons as an assistant, working as the hitting coach, the infield coach and assisting with recruiting.

Coach Weppler is a native of Burlington, North Dakota. Weppler received his BS in Physical Education from the University of Mary. Weppler played two seasons at Mary after transferring from MSU-Bottineau. At MSU-Bottineau Coach Weppler was named to the Mon-Dak all conference team, the Region XIII All Region team, and Region XIII Defensive Player of the year.

Coach Weppler just recently finished his eigth summer as head coach of the Burlington Bulldogs legion team. Weppler recieved the honor of being named Head coach of the "Class B West Legion All Stars" earlier this summer which took place in Mayville, ND. In 2007 the team finished with a record of 43 wins and 13 losses. The team placed second at the state tournament. It was Burlington's first legion state tournament appearance since the 1995 team. Weppler's career record as coach of the Burlington Legion team is 295 wins and 121 losses.


Coach Weppler was recently married to his wife Glenda on August 16th, 2008.

 

Phil Shirek

Pitching Coach

Coach Shirek will begin his secondseason as an assistant baseball coach at Minot State. Coach Shirek is the pitching coach for the Beavers.  Shirek attending and played ball at the University of Nebraska. Shirek had an outstanding career at Nebraska, where he was a pitcher for all 4 years on the team.

 

Chad Thompson
Chad Thompson
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Thompson a native of Minot, ND will also begin his first season
as an assistant coach for the beavers. Thompson will assist with
the infielders this season. Coach Thompson graduated from
MSU-Bottineau with a Marketing degree. Chad is the Development
Coordinator for Food management Investors. Chad is married to
Angie and has a son named Oliver.
