11th Annual KMSU Auction
The Minot State University Broadcasting Department will once again be hosting the KMSU Auction on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at 6:30pm on Minot's Local Access Channel, Channel 19.

With 15 years experience so far for the Minot State Broadcasting Department it takes a large amount of funds to build a strong program. Only with the help of the auction is that possible. Trying to keep up with ever changing entertainment and news technology the 80% of what we raise from the auction allows the Department to keep the students in touch with the real life changes in equipment. Not only do we enhance our ability to edit, sell, and program our evolving talents as young professionals in mass communication we learn the hard way how it is all put together. Giving the students of broadcasting at Minot State University the edge by providing them with this hands on task of organizing a real television program. The main beneficiary of the auction is the students that participate.

A portion of the 80% of the raised money will go towards sending our students to various conferences were they can flaunt their talents in production, news writing, video editing, etc. Which gives them a sense of pride, accomplishment, and not to mention something to show future employers what they can do.

The remaining funds that are divided towards the department are used on new equipment. Since there is a significant amount activities you can do while with the Broadcasting department there is a hefty quantity of equipment needed to continue the student’s path towards furthering their education. Such as Cameras, sound boards, editing equipment, microphones, and the list goes on!

To make these goals possible, we are again seeking donations. We trust all those who donate will find this a valuable and unique way to market their business. The KMSU Auction takes donations and sells them in a live auction format similar to that of the Home Shopping Network but with the bidding style of E-bay. Viewers call in place bids on-air during an allotted time period. The high bid wins the package!
